  • What is Ascent Funding?
Ascent Funding is a private loan organization that provides student loans for college and consumer loans for bootcamps.

What is the process to apply for a loan?
Once you’ve applied for your program, you can then apply for a loan with Ascent Funding. If approved, you instantly be informed. Once approved, the school will certify your loan, and you’ll sign your final loan documents. The lender will send the tuition directly to your school.

How long will it take until I get a decision?
If you have been pre-qualified for a loan, our simple loan platform will let you know right away. If you are not approved for a loan, you will be given the opportunity to add a co-signer to strengthen your application.

    Do I need a cosigner?
There are two ways to qualify for an Ascent bootcamp loan: on your own or with a cosigner. Depending on your credit health, a cosigner might be required. Cosigners may strengthen your application’s overall credit health. In some scenarios, adding a cosigner may reduce your interest rate and lower your payments. If you’re concerned about your eligibility for an Ascent loan, consider adding a cosigner with strong credit health.

You can choose to add a cosigner before you submit your loan application, or you may be given the option to add a cosigner after you apply.

If my applications is accepted, am I committed to using the financing?
You can request to cancel your loan after you apply. If your loan is approved and certified, the final step is for you to sign the Final Loan Disclosure. If you have changed your mind about the program or the loan, do not sign the Final Loan Disclosure.

If funds have not been sent to your school, Ascent can easily process a request to cancel or decrease your loan. If funds have already been sent to your school, we’ll follow your school’s refund policy.

What are the terms of the loan?
Ascent offers a number of repayment options, including Interest-Only Repayment, Immediate Repayment, and Deferred Repayment Loans. Once you’ve begun full repayment (after the grace and/or interest-only period), your loan term will be 36 or 60 months.

    When does loan payback begin?
You can make your first payment about one month after your program starts (interest-only repayment or immediate repayment) or three months after your program ends (deferred repayment).

How long will I be making payments?
    36 or 60 months

How do I find out how much my monthly payment is?
You can determine your monthly payment by using the Monthly Payment Calculator: https://partner.ascentfunding.com/emeritusevanston/

Are there any circumstances that would allow me to put my loan payments on hold?

Ascent's deferred repayment plan gives you up to 9 months after graduating before your first payment is due. If you find yourself having trouble making your minimum loan payments after graduating, you can consider Ascent's Progressive Repayment option to make your payments more affordable while starting your career.

Can I pay off my loan early?
You can prepay your loan at any time without penalty. You have the flexibility to make early payments or fully pay off your loan without prepayment fees

  • What is Sallie Mae?

Once you’ve applied for your program, you can then apply for a loan with Sallie Mae. When approved, you’ll choose your interest rate and your repayment option and sign the loan documents. The lender will send the tuition directly to your school.

How long will it take until I get a decision?

If my applications is accepted, am I committed to using the financing?
After your loan is approved, you are required to sign the loan terms. Your loan is not confirmed without this signature. You have the right to cancel your private student loan as described in the Final Loan Disclosure before funds are disbursed to your school.

    Do I need a cosigner?
If you don’t have a credit history, you will need a cosigner for your loan. A cosigner can be a parent, relative, or any other creditworthy individual. Their good credit history may help you get a loan.

You generally can apply with a creditworthy cosigner during the application process. If you apply with a cosigner, they will have to supply their financial information in the student loan application.
